Baby with eczema scratching face6. my 4 month old has eczema, has been prescribed zeroderm ointment just over a week ago which at first i was using twice a day but now applying 5 times a day to his chest and head. the main problem is his scratching over night, hes constantly wanting to hold onto material so easily pulls off his scratch mitts. Baby wipes, don't use on the face or trunk (skin tends to be much more sensitive than bottom, or hands, feet). only use unscented ones. tesco sensitive are inexpensive and really good, read the labels many wipes are full of parabens, including "tesco value wipes". Baby eczema. our 5 week old son has developed what has been called baby eczema. his entire face is red, swollen and scabby, his ears are even worse, continually wet with a pus like discharge that scabs up when dry. it started out as pimples but these have now merged to become a very painful looking rash. 11 month old has very itchy eczema. have used child’s farm cream, epader cream, cetraben ointment, only the ointment is somewhat effective. i’m applying it regularly throughout the day but the itchiness is awful as night, baby is so restless because of it. doctor has also prescribed mild steroid cream but doesn’t seem effective. Embrace the steroid use, use it on eczema, we used it twice a day till it cleared, reluctantly but gps advice and it worked. ditch the baths, not needed and not helpful. top and tail to clean, can always reintroduce once cleared. lush dream cream each night massages everywhere as part of bedtime routine, amazing.

Link between two month vaccinations and eczema. mod note: this thread was first posted in 2012. my baby is now nine weeks old and has developed eczema on the arms and one of the legs and dry skin on chest. the vaccinations were last tuesday until then was fine. had a touch of dry skin on face but nothing else. Baby rubbing his face when asleep. i'm new here and would really appreciate some advice my lo (21 weeks), was diagnosed with eczema, which had become infected, a couple of weeks ago. i'm actually not sure it's the right diagnosis as the dry patches arrived at the same time that he got cradle cap, and they hug his hairline but are nowhere else.
